Amarula Gin is a new gin made from the fruit of the Marula tree, which is hand-picked, the skin and pit removed, and only the white pulp is fermented and distilled to form Marula. It is essential that the fresh Marula pulp be crushed and distilled as quickly as possible to retain its fresh, fruity flavors in the spirit of Marula.

This complex and delicate spirit is then distilled with botanicals – sweet and subtle notes of juniper berries and orange blossom perfectly complement the exotic marula fruit, resulting in a balanced and refreshing gin.”

This is a fine quality distilled gin using botanicals from the four corners of the world and bottled at Penderyn Distillery using water from the Brecon Beacons National Park.

It contains Welsh Spirit, Juniper Berries, Orange Peel, Cassia Bark, Liquorice Root, Cinammon Bark, Angelica Root, Ground Nutmeg, Coriander Seeds, Lemon Peel and Orris Root Powder.

TASTING NOTES

Taken neat, Brecon Gin is a big traditional juniper, laced with coriander and revealing hints of spicy cinnamon. Add a mixer and the citrus freshness of oranges and lemons appear with nutmeg, liquorice and angelica in a supporting role.

The characteristic flavours go well with tonic, ice and lemon on a warm summer’s day but Brecon’s traditional heritage is equally at home besides a roaring fire on a cold night and will bring back memories of long hot summers past.

This Rose Petal gin is bottled at 37.5% and is based on our award-winning Brecon Gin.

Tasting Notes

Rose petals and strawberries are married with tart fresh raspberries and juniper. Hints of liquorice and angelica root swirl, whilst spicy cinnamon and coriander aromas blend with refreshing notes of sunny citrus fruits. Best served with ice and chilled tonic water. Garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit and fresh mint leaves.
