A brand-new addition to the range, whilst also evoking a bit of nostalgia, Longrow 100 Proof recognises the appreciation for this style of whisky from our distillery.

The characteristic Longrow peat smoke is married with the subtle influence of red wine casks and bottled at proof strength, providing a fitting contrast to our flagship Longrow Peated.

This whisky has been matured for almost 4 years in refill bourbon casks and over 2 years in refill pinot noir casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: The peat smoke influence presents in medicinal TCP notes, along with notes of redcurrants on the nose.

Palate: Softer on the palate, the peat smoke has a more earthy, musty element now, with notes of creme brulee, vanilla and almonds.

Finish: Red cola cubes, strawberry laces and marzipan are at the forefront of the smoky Longrow finish.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Notes of butterscotch and custard creams lead, with apple butter and white miso. Cream sponge and poached pear sweetness follows.

Palate: There is a creaminess, with notes of shortbread crust and smooth caramel chocolate, and gooseberries, white grapes, cigar box smoke, and sandalwood developing.

Finish: Hints of green peppercorn and honeydew melon emerge in the finish, alongside an ashy note.

Each edition offers travellers a thrilling way to explore how casks from around the world influence Ardbeg’s powerful smoky flavour.

The first in the series – Ardbeg Smoketrails Manzanilla Edition – marries whisky aged in the finest Manzanilla sherry casks and classic Ardbeg American oak casks. The result is a taste adventure that takes in dark chocolate, salty sea spray, Brazil nuts and saddle soap.

The whisky offers notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade, sweet liquorice, chocolate raisins, citrus fruits, rich coffee, nutmeg, and spice. The finish is described as having stewed fruits and toffee.

Combining two different wood types (European and American) that previously held Oloroso sherry, Tamdhu matures this whisky in these casks exclusively for 18 years.

On the nose, there are notes of rich dark fruits with ripe cherry and plum. A tang of zesty citrus notes cuts through a weighty toffee, milk chocolate and honey-baked oat flavour.

A touch of red apple comes through, alongside dried fruit, sweet baking spices, and brown sugar.

It begins in American oak, lending soft vanilla and gentle spice, before a second maturation in European oak sherry casks adds richness, dried fruit, and structure.

The result is unmistakably Balvenie: honeyed, elegant, and textured. But this older sibling shows more refinement—more green apple and creamy toffee, greater palate weight, and a longer, spiced finish. It’s a whisky crafted the traditional way, with the Five Rare Crafts still at its core—from in-house malting to the cooperage and cask finishing that make it truly distinct.
