Made from heavily peated (50ppm) barley at the Lagg distillery on the Isle of Arran, matured solely in ex-bourbon casks.

Heather smoke and charred citrus lead the nose, with a burst of fruit giving way to bonfire smoke on the palate. Sweet and creamy vanilla tones linger on the peaty finish.

This new expression from the team at Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran sees their heavily peated spirit matured in ex-bourbon barrels, with a final finishing in very active ex-Oloroso sherry hogsheads for six months.

The aroma bursts with notes of dark chocolate and dried raspberries, with over-roasted hazelnuts on a peat fire. Charred wood and heavily smoked spices kick in with a rich sherried tone, fringed with thick, rubbery, burnt peat smoke.

Taste: Raspberries, strawberries, creamy vanilla  and cinnamon spice
Cask Finish: Initially matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels, finished in hand-selected European red wine casks to deliver a perfect balance of rich berry flavours.

A brand-new addition to the range, whilst also evoking a bit of nostalgia, Longrow 100 Proof recognises the appreciation for this style of whisky from our distillery.

The characteristic Longrow peat smoke is married with the subtle influence of red wine casks and bottled at proof strength, providing a fitting contrast to our flagship Longrow Peated.

This whisky has been matured for almost 4 years in refill bourbon casks and over 2 years in refill pinot noir casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: The peat smoke influence presents in medicinal TCP notes, along with notes of redcurrants on the nose.

Palate: Softer on the palate, the peat smoke has a more earthy, musty element now, with notes of creme brulee, vanilla and almonds.

Finish: Red cola cubes, strawberry laces and marzipan are at the forefront of the smoky Longrow finish.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Notes of butterscotch and custard creams lead, with apple butter and white miso. Cream sponge and poached pear sweetness follows.

Palate: There is a creaminess, with notes of shortbread crust and smooth caramel chocolate, and gooseberries, white grapes, cigar box smoke, and sandalwood developing.

Finish: Hints of green peppercorn and honeydew melon emerge in the finish, alongside an ashy note.
