An old-school flat decanter-style bottle of the splendid Clés des Ducs VSOP Armagnac.

Unsurprisingly, this has influenced their fantastic Armagnac, as it tastes awfully royal and important as well!

Nose: Ripe plum and sugared almond. Rounded notes of vanilla develop underneath the fruit.

Palate: Drying dark chocolate and Christmas spice. Juicy apricot, apples, and pear.

Finish: Sweet and very slightly earthy.
