We loved this excellent interpretation of DOCG Chianti. Vinted from parcels of sangiovese and canaiolo from selected Casa Girelli vineyards in Trento, Fontella is a dark ruby red with flavours in the ripe berry spectrum.

The medium-bodied palate is framed by soft tannins and a long, lingering finish. Ageing in large format oak barrels brings wood-spice and some added texture into play but still allows those spicy sangiovese fruits to shine.

An excellent match with pizza, pasta or rich tomato-based Italian dishes. Highly recommended.
