Galway Pipe Rare 25 Year Old Tawny 500ml
$89.00
Comes in a box
Fermented and then aged in oak for an average of 25 years, this Tawny has depth and character rarely seen. Galway Pipe was named after the governor of South Australia from 1914-1920, Sir Henry Galway. He would visit the winery and select the finest ‘pipes’ (500l barrels) of Grand Tawny.
His favourite was inscribed with ‘Galway’s Pipe’ and used exclusively at Governor House.
Smells: Beguiling aromas of raisins, dried fruit, toasted walnuts, and baking spice.
Taste: Fruitcake, fruitcake, and more fruitcake, soft, rich, and utterly delicious. The wine is defined by its layers of complexity, with toffee, vanilla, coffee, spice, and toasted nuts all getting a show.
Long and sweet, enjoy it this Xmas with your pudding!
