Kemp Road wines are produced in close collaboration with the best artisan winemakers of New Zealand as one-off special edition releases of their favourite wines.

“Taonga” is the te reo Māori word for “Treasure” or “Wealth” — referring to the wealth of the land our artisan winemakers are bestowed with to craft the greatest, most bountiful of wines. 

Tasting Note: This 2023 blend is 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, made from two small vineyards in Bridge Pa and Hillside Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay. Aged in mature French oak barrels for 16 months before bottling. Deep, powerful and opulent red fruits with savoury undertones, a fine tannin structure framing the sustained finish—bottled unfined with light filtration.
