The original pocketknife design dates from the early 19th century, based on a farmer’s knife from the Laguiole village. In 1829 Jean-Pierre designed and made knives with the forged bee being the distinctive mark. Following this colourful tradition, Laguiole-style cutlery, corkscrews, cheese implements and pocketknives are today manufactured in Thiers and small artisan production still thrives in Laguiole.

This authentic Laguiole cutlery, masterfully crafted from high-grade 18/10 stainless steel, is stamped, ground, and then polished. Each handle features the trademark bee, reinforced stainless steel bolsters, five-rivet construction, and reinforced handles made from polypropylene resin for extra durability and maintenance-free use. Each item includes a certificate of authenticity and is dishwasher safe, on the top shelf.
