Elephant Hill Syrah 2019

From one of the real rising stars in Hawke’s Bay – Elephant Hill is fast proving it’s not just their winery that’s flash as the wines ain’t bad either!

Using fruit sourced from their Gimblett and spectacular Te Awanga vineyards right on the Hawke’s Bay coastline, using entirely hand-picked fruit, aged 12 months in French oak. All from a top 2014 vintage that’s followed in the footsteps of a pretty awesome 2013 vintage. In their own words, the Elephant crew call this “perfumed and elegant…a flagship wine at Elephant Hill”.

Drink it now or chuck it in your cellar and let it develop over the next ten years. If you’re in the Bay swing by this place (not long ago voted NZ’s top winery restaurant in Cuisine magazine) and grab a feed paired with these world-class wines – they highly recommend a glass of this Syrah with Hereford fillet, artichoke, duck liver palate and truffle porcini crumb.
