First planted in 1999, Alma is the finest expression of Te Mata Estate’s commitment to great New Zealand Pinot Noir.

Alma expresses brooding cherry and delicious ripe, dark plum flavours that unfurl with savoury wildwood scents of truffle and spice.

Intense notes of cherries and violets, morphing into blackberries and mulberries, with hints of sandalwood, five spice, and cinnamon, reveal themselves as the wine airs.

This smooth, fresh, and lively Pinot shows all the virtues of this grape variety. It is a flavoursome mouthful with abundant notes of cherries, plums, cedar, wood, and spice, combined with an abundance of finely textured tannins and perfect acidity.

Perfectly balanced, it is youthful and vibrant and will benefit from at least 4-5 years in the cellar. Drink from 2025 – 2027, with roasted red meats, duck, pork or lamb.
